FAQs

We’ve gathered some of the questions we’re most often asked about our cats and our process. If you don’t find your answer here, feel free to get in touch, we’re always happy to help.

Are Siberians hypoallergenic?

Many people with cat allergies find they can live comfortably with Siberians. This is because the breed tends to produce lower levels of the Fel d 1 protein that causes allergic reactions. However, sensitivities vary, we always recommend a t-shirt test before making a commitment. See our ‘hypoallrgenic’ page here for more information.

What’s the difference between traditional Siberians and Neva Masquerade (NEM)?

We breed only traditional Siberians — cats that trace back to the original lines without colourpoint ancestry. Neva Masquerades are related, but carry colourpoint genes introduced later. Our focus is on preserving the natural, heritage qualities of the Siberian cat: strong health, type, and temperament.

How does the waiting list work?

Joining the waiting list is free and simply means we’ll let you know when kittens are expected, born, or ready to reserve. We don’t send frequent emails, just the occasional cheerful update.

When can I reserve a kitten?

We begin accepting reservations around six weeks of age, once kittens have had time to develop, and we’ve had a chance to assess them. You're welcome to join our waiting list here at any time to be notified of litters.

Do you offer breeding rights?

In most cases, our kittens are placed with contracts as pets only and are agreed to be neutered. In rare situations, breeding rights may be considered, but only to aligned, ethical breeders by prior agreement.

How do you raise your kittens?

Our kittens are raised in our home with daily handling, family life, and plenty of enrichment until they are at least 13 weeks old. This ensures they reap the full benefits of mum and siblings influence and the early socialisation helps them grow into confident, affectionate companions.

Do you neuter kittens before they leave?

We don’t routinely neuter kittens before they leave, as Siberians are a slow-maturing breed and we prefer to let them develop a little longer. However, to help protect our lines and discourage irresponsible breeding, we do ask for proof of neutering before transferring full TICA registration.

This is included in our kitten agreement and can be discussed at the time of reservation. We're always happy to support you in making the best decision for your kitten’s health and wellbeing.

Can I visit before adopting?

To protect the health and wellbeing of our cats and kittens, we don’t allow in-person visits or handling before collection. This helps us maintain strict hygiene protocols and keep everyone in perfect health.

However, from around 6 weeks onwards, we’re happy to offer video calls. By this stage, the kittens are beginning to show their personalities, and you’ll be able to see them interacting with their littermates and mother in real time.

Where are you based? Do you offer delivery?

We’re based in Preston, Lancashire, UK. You're welcome to collect your kitten in person, or we can help arrange safe, licensed transport with a DEFRA-registered pet courier if needed.

Our priority is always your kitten’s comfort and wellbeing, and we’re happy to talk you through the options.
